RHSXC:Website move announcement

All, we are launching a new website for Rockford High School Cross Country this weekend: http://rockfordxc.wixsite.com/rockfordcrosscountry. We will attempt to keep both sites updated until the Bath meet September 10th, and will provide a redirect message on the main page.

We thank you in advance for your patience. There are two primary reasons why we are doing this:

1. Modernize and update the look and feel

2. Make the site mobile & tablet friendly

What do you need to do?

(most of the below is addressed in the tips & tricks page.

1. Calendar: does not change!

• If you are linked directly to the google calendar on your mobile device you need not do anything.

• If you log into the website to check the calendar, see the next section: bookmarks.

1. Bookmarks: NEW!

• You will simply need to click on the new link/url and use your browser to add this as your new RHSXC bookmark: http://rockfordxc.wixsite.com/rockfordcrosscountry

1. Announcements: NEW!

• You will need to update your RSS reader with a new link. Most of you have connected via Feebly, or are using Outlook or a similar email system. This is the new link you need to use to connect a RSS feed: http://rockfordxc.wixsite.com/rockfordcrosscountry/feed.xml

• Technically, we are moving to a blog. However, for RSS feeds what you need is in the bullet above (ending in xml).

1. Photos: does not change!

• we are still using RHSXC shutterfly site to upload and share photos/media

1. Bus Schedule, Meet Locations, XC Course Maps, Records, etc: copied to new site and found in the Links page.

• almost everything you can find on the 'old'/existing site has been moved or is in the process of being moved to the new site.
